Being pregnant in the summer and feeling good helped the 2nd trimester FLY by! The nausea pretty much went away at 16 weeks; although, periods of heat and humidity did make it rear it's ugly little head throughout the summer. Luckily, we didn't have a very hot summer. Perfect for being pregnant! I never got a relief from the nausea with Max's pregnancy. I was sick every day until I delivered him. So, this has been a nice change.
I felt her move for the first time around 15 weeks and we found out she was a she at 16 weeks. I wasn't surprised at all. I knew I was going to have a little girl in December before I got pregnant in March. It's something I can't explain, I just knew.
Around 27 weeks, I started to "feel" pregnant and was ready to be done. Yikes. Never mentally felt that way with Max and needed to suck it up I told myself. Also around that time, I started measuring 2-3 weeks behind. That was a set-back for me. Big time. There is no question about my dates, so that meant I started worrying about the baby (again). The CNMs I see weren't worried, but that didn't mean I shouldn't, right? ;) Ha. I had another US around 31weeks and she looked wonderful! She was awake, looking around and moving her mouth. She had chubby cheeks. It was amazing to see her! Based on the US tech's measurements, she measured right on for 31 weeks and I left that US incredibly happy.
Now, at 34 weeks, I am still physically ready to be done. I am not a good pregnant person. I said that with Max and I'll say it again now. I don't like not feeling like me. It gives me great empathy for the elderly who just want their youthful body back. Luckily, this time, I truly understand the prize at the end; so, it makes it more tolerable. She is an incredibly active baby, with quite a personality already. She will move / kick / whatever she's doing in there for an hour straight sometimes. I am going to have 2 crazies on my hands in a few months here! And I can't wait. :) So thankful for this little girl and excited to meet her!
Oh, one last thing, we still haven't figured out her name. We have it narrowed down to 2, but I keep waivering. I think we'll know when we meet her! (I hope so, at least.)
